Over the last couple of weeks I had had the pleasure of working with the most beautiful family and owner of Blueys Beach House, Fiona. The home is located in Sunrise Beach on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
I cant wait to take you on a tour, you wont want to miss this one!

This property was pulling at my heart strings as soon as I got to the front door! Greeted with the warmest of smiles was Fiona, AKA Bluey, (hence the name of the house), whom welcomed me into her home where we chatted all things design and build.
Built by Jaicon Constructions and architect OGE group architects based on the Sunshine Coast, Fiona and hubby could not recommend them enough.
“He listened to everything we wanted, he just got us and was able to come up with design solutions and ideas to create the most functional and aesthetically pleasing home”

As soon as you drive into the street, you cant miss this property. Nestled into the hills, with ocean views, this property is like no other. The gate is beautifully signed with a rustic made piece by friends of theirs “The rusty pot” in Toowoomba.

Greeting us was the most incredible grand yellow door. Contemporary in design and a real opening statement with that pop of summer yellow. Straight away I know Fiona had a real eye and talent for design. She had a way with complimenting her art choices and furniture pieces tying in colours, textures and materials with not only the environment around her but the design and build characteristics too.

Blueys beach house has the capacity to sleep 16 people. The ground floor has the most incredible kids retreat with king bunk beds, TV, lounge area and bathrooms to service. Its a fun space, warm and felt safe.. a beautiful environment for the kids to enjoy. I really loved the puzzle that Fiona completed and framed, a real homely touch to the space.

The artwork selections were hand chosen from respective and reputable artist’s such as Tamara Armstrong, Lisa Lapointe, Kimmy Hogan & Aquabumps. All of these artists are highly recommended by Fiona, and myself. Artwork can truly bring a home to life, and in this case, they did! The colours and tones in their pieces were bought together beautifully with muted and warm furniture selections.

The staircase and entrance foyer connected and set the standard for the rest of the house. The stairs were designed to create a contemporary connection between both levels with the feeling of space, sophistication and flow.
“I wanted to do this project on my own, and see if I could do it”…. She sure did!

The true masterpiece was the kitchen. The use of materials, colour choices and cleverly connecting the outside with the interior was truly remarkable. The minimalist approach and seamless design choices were spot on. A real showstopper!!

Kitchen love!!
Second to the kitchen was the designer master suit with the ensuite connecting ever so seamlessly. The master bedroom looked over the blue oceans we are so lucky to have here on the Sunshine coast. The ensuite was a classic selection of timbers, whites, greys and greenery, the ultimate design and space. It was just beautiful.

Master suite and ensuite…

We absolutely loved the outdoor space. It felt like it went forever! It was somewhere to enjoy for the whole family, a wonderful space taking in the coasts enemy’s and ocean breezes. The grand 16 seat concrete custom made table by “The Concrete Collective” was stunning. A strong statement piece sitting proud in the alfresco / outdoor kitchen with full view of the pool.

The great outdoors..
Just shy of the pool, a custom outdoor shower, (by In earth designs in Brisbane), and a second more intimate seating area with a fire pit were there to enjoy.. In a more intimate setting.
We were very lucky to be involved in a fresh interior design photo shoot at Blueys Beach House showcasing the architecture, styling, design, athletics and our love of Australian Homes.
