I have just been introduced to a Melbourne company that has wowed every bone in my body! A real design shift from the every day furniture piece you see in stores, Laelie & Lisa, the sole entrepreneurs and design gurus from Something Beginning With located in Melbourne have not only created a beautiful brand, they’ve allowed us to explore new designs, unique pieces and something to talking about!
The girls from Something Beginning With have joined us today to discuss their new ranges, their design concepts and a little bit about their careers thus far…

The tell me that Something Beginning With was launch back in 2011, its a Melbourne-based furniture brand and design studio which strives to unify the functional with the visually captivating, creating a strong, beautifully balanced and playful product.
The ladies from Something Beginning With initially designed a timber dining chair to add to their collection.
“The chair was designed for hospitality environments, but also to integrate into a variety of interior spaces, we are lucky enough to work with some very talented craftsman with whom we’ve established relationships that bring our designs from concept to fruition”
With the intention of moving into a bigger showroom next year, Something Beginning With has a history living within Lisa and Laelie. Collectively, their portfolio, awards and aka-lades prove to be up there with the best of the best in the design world.
They have been featured in top design magazines such as Adore, Grand Designs Australia, and Belle Magazine. Their pieces make a statement, sometimes a piece that’s a little out of the box is just want you need to create the perfect statement in your home.
Lisa, a graduate from RMIT in 2003 with not only skill, plenty of experience – shes designed pieces for home ware giant Alessi and her passion for all things design is gong strong. Laelie’s background is Interior Design, she has worked within the industry for many years whom is an artist with a visual arts studio based in Collingwood, Melbourne!
The ladies have the most incredible new range that has just been released called Halo. The range is truly special, the design is focused around the “Arc” form.. “creating graphic boldness”, they say! In the range they have a chair, high stool, lounge chair and sofa, also a side and coffee table. All these pieces are finished in American Oak.
